What's Microsoft's Modern lifecycle policy?

Microsoft Modern Lifecycle Policy for Microsoft 365 ensures continuous product support, provided customers "stay current" by accepting servicing updates within a specific timeframe. The update schedule varies depending on your selected update channel.

Why does Typefi only certify Orion compatibility with the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel?

The Current Channel delivers new or updated features, security updates, and non-security updates at least once per month. However, each release is only supported until the next month. However, each release is only supported until the next monthly update becomes available, which can introduce compatiblity risks for line-of-business-applications like Typefi Orion.

Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel update schedule:

  • Feature and security updates are delivered twice a year (January and July), ensuring stability while keeping systems secure and up to date.
  • Security updates, including critical patches, are released as part of Microsoft's Monthly Security Update (Patch Tuesday) on the second Tuesday of each month.

What if the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel isn't an option?

If your organisation cannot use the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel due to internal policies or other requirements, the Monthly Enterprise Channel provides security updates and feature improvements on a regular schedule, with releases on the second Tuesday of each month.
