Export to BITS XML

Export to BITS generates BITS (Book Interchange Tag Suite) XML from your structured Word documents.

The BITS XML produced by this export is based on version 2.0 of the standard, which is maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM). For complete structural specifications, refer to the official BITS 2.0 Tag Library.

To export to BITS XML:

1. Navigate to the Output group of the Orion ribbon.
2. From the Export to XML drop-down menu
   
   select Export to BITS. This converts the Word document to BITS XML. The new file is automatically saved with the same file name and an .xml extension.
