Style paragraphs

Style paragraph function opens Orion's Paragraph Styles palette—allowing you quick access to your template's custom paragraph styles.

The Orion Paragraph Styles palette displays your organisation's paragraph styles as buttons. With the Styles palette, you can move through the document and confirm or update styles using the Next, Previous, and Undo buttons.

Apply paragraph styles

To apply paragraph styles to your document, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Paragraph Styles palette by selecting Styles in the Document group of the Orion ribbon (Orion→ Document → Styles). The styles palette is divided into tabs that represent areas of your document.

    Example style tabs:

    • Front: styles in front matter paragraphs
    • Body: styles in the body paragraphs
    • List: styles for lists
    • Object: styles for boxes, tables, and figures
    • Back: styles for the back matter paragraphs
  2. Move your cursor to the paragraph you want to begin applying styles. This paragraph becomes highlighted once you open the styles palette.

  3. Select the desired tab, for example choose Front to work with styles for front matter paragraphs.

    TIP

Hover your cursor over the style palette, and use the Tab and Shift + Tab keys to switch between the different style tabs.

  4. Click the applicable button, for example, to apply a style to the selected paragraph. If no change is necessary, click Next to proceed to the next paragraph.
